| Breese Little | |
|---|---|
BREESE LITTLE is a small business with a bright future. Our goal is to introduce exciting artistic talent to a diverse audience. We seek to provide wide exposure for the best emerging and mid-career contemporary artists. Welcoming originality across all media, our carefully curated exhibitions are executed through close liaison with individual artists. We are also committed to establishing a substantial education programme to accompany our exhibitions, in order to develop interactive relationships with local communities and enliven the practice of the artists we work with.
BREESE LITTLE Directors Josephine Breese and Henry Little share a dedication to emerging art of the highest quality. Having completed their degrees in undergraduate Art History at Cambridge University and their Masters at the Courtauld Institute of Art, they have developed a strong identification with visual experience and a desire to contribute to the progression of contemporary art. Following two years as an itinerant initiative, BREESE LITTLE are pleased to announce a new permanent gallery space at 30d Great Sutton Street, which will provide a platform for consecutive exhibitions while we continue to pursue external collaborations, programmes and exhibitions. |

| Headload | |
|---|---|
Headload at the arc Gallery presents the innovative works of Nigerian modern artist and architect Onyama Offoedu-Okeke.
The exhibition will show case paintings and works that examine the irony of global industrial and economic growth and the subsequent burden in relation to the developing world where street-level enterprise consists of ordinary people, bearing the burdens of progress of industry and poverty. All manner of goods, from colourful textiles to electronic goods, are conveyed on robust heads. These mobile human markets ply their trade each day to survive, irrespective of weather or economic conditions without concern for human frame. Bearing the headload raises issues of social-economical welfare and provokes discourse on the state of the infrastructure. In Onyama’s paintings, dramatic head-crests take the form of poetic superstructures built in adaptation to economic hardships and the press industry. |
